1. Scope and controller

This policy covers the EASE iOS app, including its Home Screen widget and Apple Watch app, and these support pages, provided by Emre Şahin. Contact: mre.sahinn@gmail.com. EASE needs no account: there is no sign-up, login, email address or password.

2. Data that stays on your device

Your mood check-ins, Sleep Coach routines and morning check-ins, 7-night program progress and sleep diary, listening statistics and streaks, saved mixes, reminder times and settings are stored on your device. We do not receive them. They are included in your device backups (iCloud Backup or your computer) according to your settings and are removed from the device when you delete the app.

3. iCloud, widget and Apple Watch

If iCloud is on, your favorites (sounds, meditations, stories and breathing exercises) sync between your devices through your own Apple Account’s iCloud key-value storage; Apple processes this and we do not receive it. The Home Screen widget reads a copy of what it shows, such as your streak and last sound, from a container shared on the same device. The Apple Watch app receives what it needs from your iPhone through Apple’s WatchConnectivity: what is playing, the sleep timer, your favorites and whether Premium is active.

4. Analytics and crash reports

EASE uses Google’s Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics. Analytics records app-usage events: app launches; sounds, the mixer and timers you use; completed sessions with their duration and the mood you chose; mood check-ins; when and from where the Premium screen was shown; purchase and restore steps and their results; Premium features you tried; and onboarding and reminder choices. Your onboarding answers (what you want to use EASE for, how you feel, where you listen) are stored as user properties. Firebase assigns an app-instance identifier and receives device and app details such as model, iOS version, app version, language and an approximate country derived from your IP address. Crashlytics receives crash and diagnostic reports with a random install identifier. These identifiers are not linked to your name or email address, but they are pseudonymous rather than anonymous.

From version 1.0.2, analytics and crash reporting in the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland start only after you allow them on first launch; elsewhere they are on by default. You can turn both off at any time in EASE → Settings → Share Analytics.

5. Purchases, free trial and notifications

Apple processes payments; we never receive your card details. RevenueCat receives your subscription status, product and transaction identifiers, free-trial eligibility, an anonymous RevenueCat user ID and technical device details so that EASE can unlock Premium and restore purchases. Notifications are scheduled locally on your device: the bedtime reminder, the Sleep Coach morning check-in and, if you start a free trial with notifications allowed, a reminder two days before the trial ends. EASE does not use a push-notification server.

6. Other connections; no ads, no tracking

To show an update notice, EASE asks Apple’s App Store lookup service whether a newer version exists; Apple receives your IP address and the app’s identifier. All sounds, stories and meditations are included in the app. EASE shows no ads, does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites and does not sell personal data. EASE does not access Apple Health, your location, microphone, camera, contacts or photos.

7. Purposes, providers and retention

We process this data to provide the features you use, unlock and verify purchases, fix crashes, understand which features help and improve the app. Depending on applicable law, the grounds are performance of the service, our legitimate interest in a working and improving app, or your consent where required, as for analytics in the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland. Apple, Google/Firebase and RevenueCat may process data outside your country under their own safeguards and agreements. Data on your device remains until you delete it or the app; Firebase, Crashlytics and RevenueCat keep data according to their retention settings and policies.

8. Your choices, rights and deletion

You can turn analytics and crash reporting off in EASE → Settings → Share Analytics, manage notifications in the app or in iOS Settings, and remove favorites in the app to remove them from iCloud as well. Deleting the app removes its data from the device; it does not cancel a subscription, which you cancel in your Apple Account’s Subscriptions. Where applicable law gives you rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection, portability or withdrawal of consent, email us; because EASE has no accounts, we may ask for details that help us find data linked to your install. You may also complain to your data protection authority.

9. Children, website and updates

EASE is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect children’s personal data. Kids Mode shows calm visuals and asks for no personal information; parents should supervise its use and in-app purchases. Email us about a child’s data. Information you send to support is used only to answer your request; do not send passwords or card details. These pages are hosted by Netlify, which may process IP addresses and connection logs; the EASE page on this site loads Google Fonts and may save your language choice in your browser. We update this policy and its date when our practices change, with additional notice where required.
